Fill it in, or let your screening fill it in
Most PRISMA generators make you count records by hand and type every number into a box. Covexe can do that too. It can also do something the single-purpose tools cannot: if you screen your records in the same project, the flow diagram fills itself in. Records identified, duplicates removed, records screened, excluded, reports sought, assessed for eligibility, studies included: each count comes from your actual screening decisions. Every box has a lock control, so you can override any value by hand.
Built for PRISMA 2020
- PRISMA 2020 and PRISMA 2009 layouts
- Exclusion reasons listed in the diagram
- Four publication styles (Clinical Blue, Forest Green, Warm Amber, Monochrome), all on light backgrounds so the figure prints correctly in a manuscript
- Export as SVG or PNG
How it works
- Open the PRISMA tool. No account is needed.
- Enter your counts, or sync them from the screening tool.
- Add your exclusion reasons.
- Pick a style and download the SVG or PNG.
One figure in a bigger job
A flow diagram is one deliverable of a systematic review. In the same free workspace you can build your search strategy, screen abstracts with a second reviewer (with Cohen's kappa for agreement), extract data, assess risk of bias, run the meta-analysis, and grade the evidence with GRADE. The PRISMA tracker follows your project the whole way, so the diagram stays consistent with what you actually did.
